Finally made a decision...

I have gone back and forth, seemingly hundreds of times, on which 9mm to buy as my first 9 and ultimately my first carry weapon. I started out lusting after the Walther PPQ but decided I was not comfortable with the lack of a safety-switch. I understand that they are still safe without a switch but for now I would prefer one.

I've also looked at various Rugers, M&P, Sigs and Springfields. All great guns but none had all of the features, dimensions and "look" that I want. I finally checked out the CZ P-07 and I think it will be the one.

Great looking gun and most of the reviews I've seen are stellar. A bit hard to find locally but Cheaperthandirt has it for $420++. I'd rather buy local but unless I happen to see one in the ballpark of that price, I'll have it delivered to my FFL.

Anyone have any opinions about the pistol? I've also seen a threaded barrel version that interests me but it come with raised suppressor sights and I'm worried that will impede function with an IWB holster. I want a carry weapon first and I can think about cool toys, later. Thoughts?

CZs are great guns but the P-07 is a good sized gun to conceal carry.

I've never had a CZ pistol that wasn't accurate even when shooting it the first time.

The only time I ever had a problem was with an AFTER MARKET Mag that would jam on the 10th round every time.

Easy fix, I got a FACTORY CZ mag and problem fixed.

I guess the only negative would be that it takes a bit longer to clean than my Glocks but faster than a 1911.

You just can NOT go wrong with a CZ.....I think you made a GOOD choice.

Have you checked with Guns & Leather in Greenbrier? They usually have several CZs on hand. The Hendersonville store may as well.

I stop by Hendersonville every chance I get. I've never been to the greenbrier location. CZ's haven't been on my radar before this week so I've never even looked at them in a brick & mortar. I'm planning on making some calls tomorrow.

I might have to speed up my purchase if I find one in OD green. :)

As of today (Saturday) G&L in Hendersonville only had the P-07 and SP01 Phantom. CZ's are great guns, but they are hard to come by lately.

So they have a P-07? I'll make a trip over there, tomorrow.

Thanks Punisher.

Edit:

Holy hand grenade! They want $539 for it! I'm all for supporting local business but that's $150 more than if I purchase online...including FFL transfer and TICS.

I also think that is a fine choice, though a bit large. I have the rami, which is the same basic thing shrunk down a bit, and it is amazing. Wife has a eaa clone of the 75 which is closer to what you are looking at, holds 18 I think.

You might want to check Academy Sports. I believe they had a P07 the last time was there.

I want a slightly larger pistol, for now. The plan is to get my wife a small range gun and I'll inevitably use it for daily carry.

One of the reasons I like the p-07 is because I'm hoping to get some practice with a 1911-style draw from a holster. I'm dreaming of a Ruger SR1911 in my future. lol

Definitely on my gun-shop loop. :)

You could probably get one over at D&T Arms. If they don't have it in shop, they can probably order it and have it for you by midweek or end of next week. They really offer competitive prices and well, their local too!!! Great crew.
