It's not enough to be " Not Obama"

I am a registered Libertarian and overall my views would be considered very moderate. I don't watch television so I miss out on the boisterous pundants screaming at me about what I'm supposed to think. I generally sit back and listen to the blowhards talk about how smart they are and how dumb the "sheeple" are.

I feel like an outsider looking in, sometimes. My opinion means little because I won't engage in most of these hostile, faux debates.

The one thing I've been saying for several months is " it's not enough to be 'Not Obama'" but a win for Republicans in November should be a slam dunk.

And yet...

Pretty accurate analysis, methinks

It's difficult to see how the GOP machine has ferreted out a candidate less likely to beat a crippled incumbent. Not that any of the other more polarizing also-rans would have fared better.

I do believe McCain would be about in same place now as Romney, and perhaps even well ahead. A "I Told You So Four Years Ago" platform would likely have been plenty.

Perhaps all those who long for a viable third party will actually see it come to pass. But if so, it'll likely just be the GOP in disguise.

This coming from a scornful ex-republican turncoat in the mold of Don Sunquist that works for the wacko network MSNBC. Joe Scarborough is a piece of crap. I'd rather listen to idiot Chris Mathews than Scarborough.

Well... there is that. I've never been a fan.

I understand your point and I don't disagree with your anger. However, author aside, the words are still true. One of the reasons I don't follow ANY of the mainstream media sources is that they are full of characters like Scarborough. If I only read the written words I can make my own decision about what they mean without the filter of WHO wrote them, on WHAT network or periodical.

Works for me.

Well, the most important thing is

always to be able to think for yourself.

Some might consider that as rare.

I am a registered Libertarian....

Registered where, btw?

In TN you are only "registered" as per Rep/Dem, based on last primary vote.

Well, you can't register as anything in TN except as a voter. You haven't done that?

not that it really matters, but essentially

all you can register is by picking which

side to vote in during primaries.

I understand your meaning though, if

it's along the lines of died in the wool,

or yellow/blue dog. :D

Tennessee actually makes it very easy to register when you get your license. I did in fact register to vote, last year. I should have gotten my HCP at the same time because my Passport has since expired and all I have is a COPY of my birth certificate. REALLY glad I'm not running for president! :)

It's obvious you could trump something up at Kinko's that would suffice to run for prez. :tinfoil:
