Just back from Vegas

I drive a truck locally for a trucking company. I used to drive over the road for 5 years but went local a while ago to be home at night. Anyways, I still do a week long west coast trip for them every couple months or so. They got me one to Vegas. I have been there several times but always stayed in the truck but this time I had the lady with me and we decided to have a good time. We delivered in Vegas and took 5 days off out there. Figured we may as well. We parked the truck and got a nice room on the 18th floor of the Excalibur. Our view was amazing. We did about all one could do in Vegas without going to jail. We even went to the pawn shop on Pawn Stars. We rented a scooter to ride around on and came about a gun store called 'full auto' I believe so I looked at their website prices and it blew my mind. They go from around $79 for a few handgun rounds to around $800 for a couple hundred rounds from an AR/MP5/UZI etc. I have shot full auto rifles and don't really care to again. I called and asked if they had a Glock 18 or a S&W 500. They had neither. Those are the only two guns I wanted to pay to shoot. She said they had a Desert Eagle .50 so I asked how much for just 2 or 3 magazines through it and I was told it would cost a $39 range fee and $79 for the ammo and use of the gun. As much as I would like to have shot it, no way was a paying 120 dollars for 2 magazines. They stay busy though. They must make a killing. Has anyone on here ever been to one of those places out there

Personally, I have to go to Vegas every couple of years for business. I don't gamble, so I find it kinda boring and am ready to come home after a day or so. There are some great golf courses around there, and really find it interesting to watch folks pi$$ their money away.

We got admitted to the "high-rollers" lounge at one of the hotels a few years back, and I was just amazed at how much money I saw change hands in the hour or so they let us stay. There was one guy who had to lose $200,000 while we were there.

Wow. I couldn't imagine that much. I only play Blackjack. I've gotten pretty good with it over the years. I came back home about $750 heavier this time. Usually I just break even.

Only been to Vegas once, and that was because my step-mother had business out there so Dad and I went. (Free flight and room so...) Anyway to me it was pretty boring. I guess if you gamble though it would be fun, but none of us do. Would have been tempted to go shoot some other full autos but not at those prices.

Glad you had a good time. If you ever find yourself down here you can try my eagle, its in 44 mag but the difference is mostly in the cost and availability of ammo. Its about like shooting a 1911, louder, a little more recoil (not so much as you would expect), a little heavier and longer. And I only charge $50 for 3 mags :P (kidding, kidding).

I think they have a heavy construction equipment playground out there now. That and the full auto guns would be the only thing I'd blow my money on out there.
