Triple-check before cleaning

a relative of mine shot through his window in a room full of people when showing off his new gun. Apparently, he checked to see that there was not one in the chamber BEFORE he dropped the mag (effectively loading one in the chamber while checking it). Then he handed it to his nephew who immediately pulled the trigger while looking through the optics out the window. I was not there but was told that there were many other people in the room at the time this happened.

If chance is on our side, hopefully he won't be able to produce any offspring to spread his genes.

Silver lining to every story.

The most important point - If you are going to attempt "mexican" carry, make really sure that your finger is not inside the trigger guard!!

"Schmuck !! Now ya done gone an' schlepped off 'ur schmeckie !!" :stick:

A witness snappeda pic of his friends rushing him to the hospital

That one guy must have been in another room.

Sorry. Little Woody Allen humor

He won't be adding to the gene pool, thankfully. I doubt he will tell of this story on Bimmerfest, either.

What a Nut.

When I clean a gun, not only do I check it, but I even show it to my wife and let her check it. Not saying I don't trust myself, but I want her to know it is checked and cleared so that she does not worry.

I think he qualifies for a Darwin award. He may not have died but appears to have removed himself from the gene pool. (modern science and doctors are the only reason he is still alive).

Do you think they will use that in the Gun crime statistics?

Was it a Glock? :jester:

Joking.

Does point to a lack of firearm knowledge and lack of safety.

Pay attention to what you are doing.

And OUCH OUCH OUCH OWIE OUCH OUCH.

I presume he lost it all. Extremely hard lesson learned.
