But Mac, the farm is being bet on. :D

This time the farm is the USA.

You guys really being honest?

Remember, it's what you really logically think, not how you're voting or hoping -- as if you had to bet the farm.

I know what you mean and voted accordingly.

It's not a "who I want to win" poll.

In all honesty I THINK Romney will win. I know it's hard to judge with so much of the Lying Liberal media.

Its all going to come down to voter turnout. If all those people that came out of the woodworks to vote for Obama stay home like thu used too, Romney will win.

Who is your guy, Erik? I thought a few polls had a dead even match up and even a couple having Romney in a slight lead,

not that a poll means anything. They don't mean much to me. My vote does.

I assume this was a facetious question? Romney will get my vote. Don't really like the guy but really can' stand Obama.

I believe Romney/Ryan and the R's will be the party poopers to the Communist gala when their Greek columns come crumbling down to their dismay. Instead of "Yes We Can", it will be "Oh, what happened to our Hope and Change"?

In your first post you said " My guy says", but I have to believe you meant "gut". He was referencing who your "guy" was

I usually don't know, but this time can't even hazard a guess. If someone put a gun to my head and forced a bet on the farm, would just flip a coin.

I wasn't trying to be a smartass, Erik. :D

What it's all about!

I really think that this election is more about who doesn't show up to the polls, than those who do. In my estimation, this helps Romney.

Just fact that Gitmo is still open will keep a huge portion of Obama's base from voting.

It is my hope that the "one hit wonder, ideologue" voters are just so disappointed that they would rather stay home, smoke their dope, and check the balance on their EBT card.

Something tells me that the people who voted that Romney will win said the same thing in 2008 about McCain.

I hope you are right this time.

Nope. That was a real different election.

I wish I could find a thread from 2008 to see what the general consensus was. I can't remember exactly, but didn't Obama win by a large number?

When McCain stopped his campaign and went into crisis mode about the emergency bailout, he helped

seal his own fate. When he muzzled Palin on the campaign trail, he killed his own campaign. When he became

a progressive years earlier, he destroyed his credibility. You know, that "reach across the aisle" mentality? He

wanted people to think he was the reincarnation of Teddy Roosevelt: bad strategy.

It became a real maybe for me until Palin got on the ticket. She was the only real reason I voted for McCain,

except that I would have never offered up my vote for Obama.

Obama's 3 1/2 years of OJT have produced nothing good but a class of thugs and bums, and enough see it

to make a difference this time, if they get off their asses and vote. If they don't, well you make the prediction.

Does that really matter, at this point, except for some kind of self gratification? What really matters is that people get into attack mode in the right states and win electoral votes for Romney. I don't remember a

general concensus around here about either, except that McCain screwed up his own campaign. It was a

close race until a few days before election day, according to the polls, which hit it wrong.

If you live and die by the polls, it's real easy to die. They can motivate voters to not vote as much as it can encourage people to vote.

No it doesn't matter, I was just trying to remember how close it was in 2008 compared to now. The polls are very very close right now with Obama showing a slight edge. Mike said this is a completely different election which I would agree but I was just curious how the polls looked at this same time in 08.

I expected Obama to win last time. McCain/Palin was a real weak ticket. The country hated Bush, and Obama talked a really good game. Obama had no track record, just promises

Obama is sitting on a poorly run revovery, and the Romney/Ryan ticket is not and old geezer and a parrot. Real different deal this time

I was just thinking about it and while I am not looking forward to voting for Romney I am really, really looking forward to voting. Also, if you remember back to the 2000 election, NBC declared Florida as a Gore win before the polls closed, most certainly deterring people from going to the polls after work. It wouldn't have been so close down there if it weren't for that. Look to see that happen this time too.

The graph on this page is a good indicator of how the polls move around. Obama farts, and Romney is the winner for a couple of days. Not saying this one is any more accurate than the others. It's just a good fickle meter.

i think people here get a scewed view of things. Hanging around gun forums is not a good way to gauge what the rest of the people think.

I see and talk to plenty of people every day who still feel the repubs are out of touch and that Obama is the best thing since sliced bread.

I have heard things like" Obama is for the middle class and will not raise taxes, only wants to raise taxes on corporations, we need a ban on guns, Ryan is going to kill Medicare and seniors in the process, Romney is a rich fat cat" it goes on and on.

I don't see anyway possible Romney is going to win.

I am heartened by the fact though that my parents who have never voted republican ever are not going to vote for Obama this time. Maybe that shows a trend among seniors in the midwest, dunno.

And do you have any idea how many of those are actually going to vote? Mike, do you really think we only hang around here for our dose of daily reality? I go to a lot of sources for my information and talk to a huge sampling of people, and then wonder how many of those people even mean what they say, and will actually vote. Most of my peers at work, for example, who are union members in the Teamsters, by the way, don't have a clue what a voting booth looks like and have no intention of finding out, but they spew some of the most awful, uneducated crap I've ever heard, and if they vote, I would share your opinion, but I know most of them won't.

I imagine this race is really too close to call by either of our gut feelings, so I will continue being optimistic that enough folks who sat it out last time, will care enough to bounce the commie out of the White House. There is a roar of rejection coming from the right, this time. I only "hope" they show up at the voting booth and make the roar count.

Romney has a decent chance, but has an enormous uphill battle looming. Unless he gains major ground in the next couple months, I'm afraid BlowBama will win again.

Doesn't matter. He was elected the first time, so he obviously had the support. McCain had barely a chance, and certainly had no chance when he chose Palin. Romney/Ryan is a much better prospect than last time, but I doubt it'll be enough.
