Plenty of empty suits, BS and lies to keep both parties well-stocked. I usually watch conventions but didn't even accidentally tune into a few seconds of either one this year. About as information-free as dancing with the stars.

the press is having a random moment and tearing into him as his speech and the weekly job data are not adding up so well. I did not really expect to see so many "obama gives speech but economy is horribad" headlines from so many places...

They can't deny it. He sure did deny it though. I just saw him make a statement about how we have had 30 straight months of jobs growth and how his administration has created over 4.6 million jobs during his term. I heard on a talking head on NPR yesterday, that said just to break even, we need to create 150,000 jobs a month. Big difference between 150,000 and 93,000. I bet that number will be altered down by the end of the month. They usually do downgrade them after all the information is analysed. Also that 4.6 million jobs number is the gross. We have lost 4.3 million jobs over the same period, which shows a net of 300,000 jobs net. Sounds like it's far from a healthy economy to me. But what to I do. I'm just a dumb citizen. I need the Government to come and run my life for me.
