too pretty to shoot ?

I shoot them not matter how pretty. Maybe not as much though...LOL

My dad is more of a collector than a shooter and he has some beautiful guns. It is so hard for me to buy anything collectable, although I do badly want a ww2 era 1911 that is in excellent shape. It is just so hard for me to actually put up the money for something I will not use. I'm hoping someday my wife will get me one as a gift so I will not actually right the check. LOL

To me, saying that a gun is too nice to shoot is like saying a steak is too delicious to eat or a girl is too sexy to fool around with. That sure is a nice, pretty gun, though - I certainly wouldn't want to drop or scratch it.

That is a nice piece, and you owe it to the craftsman that put it together to put it to good use.

I do have a couple of family heirloom guns that are pretty much safe queens, but anything that I buy gets used (but not abused). Even the safe queens will make a trip to the range occasionally. My nephews love it when I bring out their great-grandfathers Browning and let them break a few clays, and I get the honor of throwing in a story about dove or duck hunting with him.

Is he out of his mind?

You mean that's not how you do it.
