I was hoping that someone that has a mosin nagant 1895 revolver shoots it and how they hold up. I got my C&R a couple of weeks ago and am thinking about getting one to add to my collection. Any help would be nice.

They are what you would expect out of a $75 gun, and ammo is rediculous for it. if you were to get one to shoot i would get the .32 cylinder so you could save a little money over the 7.62 nagant. But if you are just collecting i would say they are a good purchase. Just my opinion.

Hey tommy.

well, those old revolvers hold up like everything else Russian. after all, they're still around and being sold fairly cheaply...

it is definitely a hand cannon! kind like the m-44 rifles...overbuilt to take the punishment, tough as hell and ugly too! B) enjoy your pistol when ya get it!

and welcome to the forum! :P

The Nagant 7.62 revolver is a neat, cheap addition to any milsurp collection. They were built very strong for the round that they use and I doubt that you would wear one out by shooting it.

The downside is that you probably couldn't afford to try to wear it out by shooting factory Nagant 7.62 ammo through it. However, there is alternative. You can buy the .32 acp cylinder for it as Fatguy7814 suggested, but from what I hear, they usually have to be fitted by a smith to get the timing right. You can also shoot .32 long or .32 H&R magnum rounds through it. Those rounds do bulge and sometimes split though. There's also reloading. I havent tried it yet myself although one day I might.

I have one that is marked (traslation) "RSFSR, Initial Tula Weapon Factory" and made in 1921. RSFSR was the first Soviet government known as the Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic.

The double action pull is a B*tch, but the single action pull isn't too bad for what the gun is.
