Does anyone here have a her gear 1911?? I am increasingly curious about them and am torn between a nighthawk talon 2 or one of hero gears commander size guns.

I've got one of Jeff's bobtail commanders. you won't be disappointed.

I'm in Brentwood most days. Let me know if you'd like to come by and check it out.

I just picked mine up today, it's government length though. I am amazed by Jeff's work. The fit and finish are phenomenal!

bobtail commanders.

Lucky dog.

That's my absolute favorite 1911 version. If you have pics, and it's not too much trouble, I'd love to see it.

I really want one but I have to get the house bought first. All my play money has been spoken for already. But I really like these guns. Anyone live near tullahoma with one?

I'll get some pictures up in the next day or so.

Jeff is a member here (JeffM), and will work with you to get you exactly the pistol you want. I'd encourage anyone to give him a call.

Btw, he is also a great choice if you want to have an off the shelf pistol worked on. I've got a Kimber Warrior that he blueprinted, and it has run thousands of flawless rounds.

There are several in the display case that you can fondle. I picked my Hero 1911 up yesterday and put 250 rounds through it today. Flawless function and far more accurate than I am. Jeff definitely knows how to build a quality Custom 1911!4589523a-a796-50cb.jpg

The way I look at it is which one holds their value better? If both are around the same price then I am definitely going with the Nighthawk due to it being a more recognized name and inevitably holding its value better. Im not saying Hero 1911's arent good(Never shot one though) but when I think of small shop local builders I think of Useltons and how I use to see his $4,000 1911's sitting used on shelves throughout various local gunshops for around $800.

Depending on your intent, that's something to think about.

I personally like having a top notch 1911 with which I have a personal relationship with the builder, who's here in Tennessee, and who I know will absolutely stand behind his work.

I consider it an heirloom piece that I'll pass down. I've had several older family members try to lay claim to it should I ever die an untimely death. :)

I picked up my Hero-1911 today - it's simply amazing. Once I get a chance to shoot it I will report back.

Again, get one of these if you can.
