I'm thinking that I'll be able to make it as well...not POSITIVE though...I may have some work in Guatamala coming up.:(

No, Mars, I'm not going off to join the farcs or any sort of thing like that....there might be some tower work down there..but you can bet your hind end that I will be armed once I get there.

Oh yeah. You'll be up a tower with a handgun in easy view of all the nasty American hating people with rifles hiding among the trees. Got a Plan B? :(

Towerclimber37, can you say "No. No soy norteamericano! Yo soy Polaco!" ? That'll save ya.:D:)

We've got a break in the class schedule so unless something really big happens (in which case I'm likely to say FIDO anyway) I'm free for the 19th in the Tri-cities area. :D

Anybody wanna carpool?

Alright guys. It's getting time for the next go round. Dates are starting to fill up for me, but I'm keeping the 3rd Sat. of my schedule open for now. That's the 19th. Tower and I were talking the other night about having this one up on his brothers place. I think he had some things he wanted to do first, but I'd like to see what every elses thoughts are before he goes through all the trouble.

Myself personally, I'd like to go up to the tri-cities area this time. There's a bunch of you other guys on here that I'd like to meet, that couldn't make the last one. I don't care a bit to drive, and would be more than willing to car pool with the guys from Knoxville area that would like to go. Give us your thoughts, please......

Cool beans, I'll meet you in Tazewell. Thanks for offering to drive. :(

I'll be in Nashville for a ceremony w/ my daughter, so I can't make it. I would pay money to see Mars in a Glock cap. :(

I'm up for carpooling. BTW I posted in off topic about the range. How's it coming along?

Hey mars...don't laugh..those guys had GUTS!! The towers will be about 1500 feet high...so yah..I'm confident that I can get em! (I found out today that its 2 broadcast towers going up)

..

I submit that anyone that charges a tank on horseback, knowing they're gonna die, shook off the hand of Soviet oppression while it was in its heyday.....has some big 'uns!

besides..I don't think that FARC or some of those other groups care where you're from.

as for the handgun? ummm yah..if its a thompson contender.:D

I'll have it covered.

I'm getting a memory card for my camera...it takes pics as well as video.

when the event happens I'll be able to not only take 500 pictures, but about 30 minutes of video as well.

Let's ride. I'll drive the Sable. Easy on fuel, fast, large trunk for lots of guns, comfortable, good stereo, good air, and good tires and running condition (note priorities). See post at "Off Topic"

Man, I've been away from here to long!!! Moving and changin jobs takes up a bunch of TGO browse time!!!

I'd love to make it the 19th though!!! NO CLUE as to wether I'll be in the area or not. The past two weeks have been hectic and that was the easy part compared to the coming weeks!!

I'll keep watching this thread though to see what everyone decides and maybe chime in the day before as to wether I'll be able to make it.

Time to poke around the rest of the threads I've been missing!!!!!!!!!!!

As I've told Tower, this is my anniversary weekend and I don't know if I'll be able to shoot or not. More likely I could get to lunch, if you folks are doing lunch first.

Lunch? Yeah I think Tower was catering steaks in....Weren't you big guy??:)

Seriously though, we ate last time before, so it really doesn't matter to me. Someone up that way name a place to eat and we'll start getting times together to meet.

I think there are some four-star places around there, like Micky-Ds and Arby's :)

Don't forget Taco Bell for those with brave stomachs.

Awesome, thanks for the ride. I'm not sure if Cheryl's going or not, but I'll try to pin her down on it soon. Either way I'll chip in for some gas money and bring my permission slip. :)

I won't be able to make it, but I would recommend Pratt's BBQ in Kingsport. We drive up there once a month from Jonesborough for it... mmmmmmm

Oddly enough, I've never tried Pratt's. I'm a nut about BBQ. My family bought a dog from them back when they were Pratt's Farmland on Sullivan Street back in the 50s. A Jonesborough based BBQ place, Boby's Boogie Pig Bar-B-Q, just moved into Blountville. OK, but not special. My current local favorite is the Red Pig, in JC. But I bring my own sauce to any of them.

Ridgewood, anyone? Best.....BBQ....period...

Pratt's is the only decent one I've found locally, though I haven't tried Ridgewood or the Red Pig.

After 4 years in Memphis, I like my BBQ a certain way too, and Pratt's offers a good selection of sauces, none are perfect, but they have some that are very good.

I have never cared for Ridgewood. I prefer pulled barbecue. You have to remember that though I'm a Tennessean, all of my family is from Georgia and some of them were in the barbecue business. So I may be prejudiced.

Or then again I may just be right as usual.

I like Red Pig as well, but it's not as good.
