Customizing the lettering on a Springfield XD9SC?

Hello friends,

Just purchased a new Springfield XD9 subcompact and would like to color in the lettering on top and sides with white. I have seen this on Glocks and Springfields and think it really looks great!

My question, how do I do this? What kind of paint? How do I do it?

Thanks in advance,

Newman

I know many people do it with crayon.

I always use a white crayon. Degrease the slide first (alcohol, brake cleaner) and just rub it with the crayon. After I use a bit of gun oil on the slide to clean the excess away, and presto.

is it really that easy? Crayon? That just seems too easy. Do you melt the crayon or just rub on a regular white crayon?

No nail polish?

Just straight Crayon. It may take some experimentation to get it right, but it's really that simple.

I've been wanting to experiment with this for some time now so I stopped by Kroger's after work and picked up a 24 piece box of Crayolas for 50 cents with that stupid value card they make you use.

I'll tell you one thing, if you have Glocks in both 9mm and the Mighty .40 filling in the caliber designation on the magazines rocks! Haven't done a gun yet but it's ridiculously easy.
