Nothing fancy, but was on sale. It is one of their cheapo blades that is made in china, but I can't complain for $17 for a nice textured g10 grip with assisted opening. I still plan on getting a ken onion to replace the one that fell out of my pocket a couple years ago, but this at least is a step up from the $5 piece of junk that I HAD been carrying.

I hope you enjoy it. Kershaw is without a doubt my favorite maker, though I do prefer the American models. Evidenced by my lack of knives from other makers.

I hear ya, but I don't have the budget for another ken onion model at the moment. My spare funds are going towards my AR build. Without a doubt though my ken onion had been my favorite knife I have owned to date.

Even Kershaw's offshore products are great values for the money spent. Quality stuff.

I agree that Kershaw Chinese knives are leagues above something like a S&W knife or a United Cutlery.

Their PRC knives are among the best values in knifedom. I don't know of better values than some of the ones directly from Chinese makers like Enlan/SRM/Navy.

I particular like the assisted ones:

Clash, Compound, Asset, Tremor, Burst, Oso Sweet, etc.

I'll probably score one this RG1 too, I have some eBay Bucks coming. :)

i have had good luck with CRKT, at least in pocket folders...they held their edges for longer than some of the others ive had...

One complaint I have is that the clip is so tight, that my pants feel like it is being torn when I clip it on my pocket. I think I am going to take some sandpaper and get underneath the clip and remove some of the texture there as I know overtime it will probably rip holes in my pants.

At least this clip is nice and solid and appears to have good memory on it. My ken onion got lost because the clip got bent out with thicker material pants, and then when wearing others it would slide off easily while sitting down. I don't believe I will have that problem with this one.

Could you not remove the clip and bend the clip away from the handle very slightly?

I had to do the reverse operation on my Kershaw Crown. The pocket clip had no retention except for the weight of the knife holding it in my pocket. Although I don't remember for sure, I think I was the one who bent the clip.

No matter, enjoy your knife!

Easier with the clip attached. Just grab with long nosed pliers right close to anchoring screws, or where bend first starts downward, depending on clip type.

If you go too far, though, you will have to take it off to bend back to tighter by grabbing in two places. Doesn't take much of a tweak to make significant diff.

I removed the clip and did some bending, but the texture of the grip was still adding some wear to the pants. I removed the clip and sanded down the texture some right below where the clip pushes the material into the material. All is well now and took not 3 minutes.
