If you like soul food and the best mac and cheese in town .. go to Chandlers Deli. I have never tasted such good mac and cheese in my life. .seriously.. and the mashed yams where also very very good.. The ribs( I had 2) are HUGE and fall of the bone tender..They have al lkinds of other food. .Ocra..Collard Greens and such..Its always packed there so we never went in.Until 2 days ago.. Its located on Magnolia Ave.. And the portions are huge..and actually very reasonable..

I love Chandlers. Good fried chicken, good rotisserie chicken, good ribs, and great sides. They also have fruit cobbler and ice cream. oh and Kool-Aid. I know some here think its just ok, but I love it!

Blasphemy! If it ain't pork, it ain't 'que!

On a related note, for the Memphis area folks looking for Soul Food, go to the Sack 'N' Save on S. Third not far from South Parkway. Just remember to go armed. But that's the way it always works, the best food is made in the worst neighborhoods.

If you are a fan of chicken livers you have to try Chandlers. I believe they are the best in town. I used to think Wrights had the best until I tried Chandlers. They cook them up fresh so you do have too wait a few minutes, but worth it.

Chandlers is some damn fine food. Used to eat there often when I worked nearby.

One thing is for certain, I never stayed close to home when Momma was cleaning them.
