Do you ever see other people carrying?

About 99% of the summer I wear St Louis Cardinals jersey's. Aside from my obvious lack of any fashion sense I sometimes feel that people classify me as "Thug" just because of the jersey. Tattoo's don't help but at the same time my pants aren't hanging around my knees and the jersey's aren't xxxxl. I limp slightly because of an injured foot but nothing too pronounced. I have gotten the eye for wearing jersey's but most of it could be in my head, the question is.....At what point do you realize the guy with the cardinals jersey and dirty, worn normal to the front (no sideways non sense or flat bills) cardinals hat is not a thug, but in fact a baseball fan?

I don't blame folks for the initial looks and after speaking with a person they realize I'm a well mannered and considerate person. Just an observation from my perspective.

And to answer the OP, I see 2 or 3 OC a year around these parts.

That depends. Are you over 25? If not, differentiating between the "baseball fan" and "thug" might be hard. If so, you are violating Colin Cowherd's "jersey rule" and that, as they say, is "a whole 'nother problem."

Why "thankfully?" OC is just as legal as concealed. And contrary to popular belief, it generally does not cause issues.

I conceal carry blatantly. Its just plain obvious.

I notice it a lot. Heck, I see a ton of open carry in places I frequent. Such as Waffle Houses, Walmart, grocery store, etc. Depending on where I am, and what part of town I am in, I see a lot of both.

CC is about 4 to 1 to OC. CC is more prevalent in places like Brentwood, Oak Hill, and Bellevue. More OC in Antioch, and "South Nashville" area, or at least what the news depts. call "South Nashville."

But, I won't go further into OC, as there are overzealous arguers on both sides of the issue.

No one has ever said anything to me and I carry a G21 under a light cover shirt, I know I print somewhat. I don't believe anyone notices even if you print except for maybe a cop. I remember the fanny pack fad a while back, the gun packs were pretty obvious about as much as OC. It never got over the stigma that fanny packs were not a manly thing to wear, (man purse), but the worse thing about them was they were more difficult to draw your handgun from than a old military flap holster.

I open carry all the time too. Plus right now I don't really have a choice; I just got a new carry gun. I'm waiting for my crossbreed supertuck in the mail.

I do whatever I'm most comfortable with. If I know in advance that I'm going somewhere there's going to be a lot of sheeple (women and children), I use a concealment holster. If I find myself at a place like that unexpectedly, I just pull my shirt over my gun and print like I've got 90's brick cell phone strapped to my hip.

In regards to open carry, no one has ever said anything negative to me about it and I've never gotten any bad looks. Perhaps its the size of the gun or maybe its my personality, lol. It's always very well received. When people do talk to me about it they always explain that they're happy that people other than crumbs are carrying too. My favorite is when they explain that they've been meaning to get their permit for a long time. I actually know quite a few now that I'm proud to say HAVE gotten their permits after a little guidance and encouragement. And don't worry, they conceal carry - wouldn't want to scare anyone!

I seen a lady open carry a 1911. The funny part was she is about 5'2" 300 lbs. And it was about front pocket possition. Also seen a guy conceal a small gun (keltec?) on a belt clip.

Husband open carried yesterday at a Deli ..only because he didnt have a jacket on him to cover it up... some older gentleman looked at him and asked if the crooks where keeping him busy.. and then asked who he was working for.. I guess him being in dress pants and a white shirt.. he thought he was LE or something.. I thought it was funny..

But no one freaked out.. some lady kinda stared at it for a bit...

Every few months I'll see someone OC. I saw a lady in the local Wal Mart carrying on her hip. She appered to wearing a pair of fleece type pants similiar to sweat pants. I didn't see a belt. She was wearing a tight short shirt and her pulling at the shirt every 30 seconds to try to cover brought more attention than if she had just open carried. I didn't get close enough to look but what I can't figure out is what held up the holster.

I noticed a guy OC'ing at the Sam's Club on Antioch Pk a while back. The sheep are rarely ever looking for CC'ers specifically so if you are looking and can't spot them then don't fret it!

I did see one person openly carrying a glock 19 (i think) today up on Bryants cove( near Tracy City). But we was out riding fourwheelers and beings in Grundy county, i would highly advise anyone who rides there carry. Nobody said a thing, nobody was shot, and nobody seemed to be uncomfortable. I wish i'd openly carried my Glock( but I was cc ing the s&w shield). Till i can get a better holster, the uncle mike's holster i just got ($15 at Dunham's in Tulahoma) works for the money.

My dad carried a loaded Colt Commando 2" in his car for about 40 years in Polk County without a permit. Knowing the local magistrate well didn't hurt any.

I actually enjoy a good day hanging out at Opry Mills (Bass Pro doesn't count), Cool Springs, or Green Hills and play "Spot the Gun." Mainly because I can't afford to shop in the malls any more, but I love me some Auntie Anne's Pretzels!

I've seen some very poor attempts at CC, some half-hearted CC, and a couple, but not many, OC. I assume anyone who isn't printing is concealing well... Yeah, I'm an optimist.

I notice people CCing' more and more every day. It's the way they walk, squat or "adjust" them selves while being in public. Quite noticeable if you know what actions to look for. People not reaching up high or bending over, tugging at their shirt or pants....it's funny actually.

As far as open carry, usually it's old guys like OhShoot ( ) who carry open.....the old guys know the officers usually wont give them to much hassle when OCing. The younger crowd OCing'......well, that's a different story for a different day.

In my time working for lowes in North Knox(8 months) I have seen a couple people printing pretty badly and a handful of OC. The thing that amazes me is that 3 of the people practicing the right to OC were carrying very small guns. I never expected to see a couple kel-tecs and a LCP being open carried. If im going to OC it's going to be my hk45 or my g17. I mean the people printing were carrying pretty large framed guns, you could tell.
