Famous Dave's, Calhoun's, Buddy's, Sweet P's, Full Service BBQ (Maryville) , Whitts (Maryville)... had them all. All pretty good.

Fat's BBQ and Love That BBQ off Old Maryville Highway. Love That BBQ is very, very good and I would highly recommend them over just about anyone else in Knoxville. There is also Sweet Peas which is good.

See what Jack's on Trinity Lane would charge. Their's is good. I'm not sure if they cater, though. I'll bet they do.

Just a million decent BBQ shacks in Nashville to choose from.

M&M and Pup's Pit are very good as well. M&M does catering, not sure about Pup's.

Here's a fairly comprehensive list of many of the local places....http://www.metropuls...arbecue-joints/

Did pup's pit move? I used to drive by it all the time and noticed they aren't at their old location.

So, 11 posts in and no arguments on what the best is.

When should we commence?

Now. I say Love that BBQ has the best ribs, absolutely fall off the bone.

When I worked at my previous employer, we had catering done fairly frequently for different events. I can say I have had most of the suggested at one time or another. Although, individually - M&M's was my favorite, I was not impressed by their catering. Not a very good spread at all.

The best catered meal out of the above mentioned, in my opinion, was actually famous dave's.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I actually like Famous Daves for catering but my preference is to use a local place if possible. I think I will contact a few and see what they have an keep Dave's in my pocket in case none of the rest of them work out.

Thanks again. I just popped some popcorn and sat down so please start fighting.

I know it is a thread for Knoxville, but Ridgewood BBQ is the most popular here in the Tri-Cities and is pretty well known. It's definitely worth a visit if any of you are up this way.

I haven't tried the places mentioned in this thread because I'm not in Knoxville that often. We do have Cade's Cove bbq in our tent at the races and it is pretty good.

I may be crucified for this but ridgewood does NOTHING for me. I'm not a sliced pork fan. I think pork should be pulled. Now Phil's dream pit on the other hand has the best ribs EVER! Yes i said it...if anybody is up this way stop by Phil's you won't be disappointed. It's on I26 off the Eastern Star exit right up from the 81 intersection...

I'll have to try some of the ribs at Phil's. I haven't been there yet. Thanks for the tip, though. I'm always down for a good rack of ribs. I'll try it next weekend, once the race and fair traffic clears out. Have a good one.
