Best "How To" Resource?

Recommended Posts

So during a weak impulse control moment last week I bought a basic AR upper after seeing a special for slgihtly blemished uppers. I have been entertaining the idea of building my own AR-15, and what I'd like to know is what is the best "How to" resource out there?

Also, while I'm at it I would like to know thoughts of going with 6.8 SPC II rather than 5.56 for more knockdown power?

The brownells videos are great. I don't think they show the box cutter trick for installing the front takedown pin, though. That's the one where you're most likely to launch the detent and spring across the room. I would go through several series of videos until you find that trick.

AR15.com has a great step by step tutorial with pictures. It's so much easier than you would think, when you get done you'll be asking yourself why you ever waited to do one. Have fun.
