The catcher on my Rockchucker is a green plastic tray that wraps around the base of the press. It only spits a small percentage onto the floor. The new design must be 'progress'. :D

I saw one of those after I posted. Seems your experience is similar to others. Better but not perfect. I may try to rig a homebrew solution before buying a new tray. But after all they're only 10 bucks on midway.

I'm a big RCBS fan. I own a lot of their stuff. But, that primer catch system is unfortunate. Doesn't look like there is a perfect solution.

Forster got it it done better than anybody else. It's the only one I have that catches crud and all. Unconventional design, though.

All three of my presses do a good job of catching primers, but only the Forster catches all the crud. There's no center ram, so the primer tube and jar are a straight shot below the shell holder.

That copper rig looks pretty effective

Which presses do you use for which applications? Off topic, just curious.

Yea, that's what mine has had since the mid 80's. Seems to catch about 98% of mine. The ones that usually end up on the floor is when I go to empty the thing.

Can't beat a Lee single stage. The primers are 100% contained. They drop down the middle of the ram and into a tube. I used to put the tube in the trash but now I have a old medicne bottle glued to the bottom of the tube. I might have 1 in 1,000 that makes it out of the system and onto the floor.

I use a shop vac to get those that hit the floor.
