Got to shoot a .50 BMG

A childhood friend of mine came over to the new house after work tonight and brought his bolt action .50 BMG. IT WAS AWSOME!!!!! Sorry had to tell someone.

A 50 recoil isn't that bad, your going to need to shoot it off a bipod or bench rest unless your super strong and able to hold a 5+/- foot gun that weights 30-40 pounds and forget about accuracy...

I would have a 50 BMG over any other caliber for long range shooting. You can find it for $3.50 a round which is cheaper than most other 1,500 yard calibers. And in a End of Times situation you will find 50 BMG before most others as well.

Yep, 50bmg recoil isn't bad at all. The rifles are so heavy, and with the muzzle break it is nothing. Just a nice slow push with a big boom.

Oh yeah only have a 50 yard range behind the house with enough berm to stop it. It is indescribable. Recoil is no worse than a 12ga. Muzzle brake plays a big part in that. Noise and side blast are considerable. I was shooting from a bench rest off a bipod. It was crazy.

My Barrett owners manual stated if you remove the brake and shoot it you'll void your warranty, BTW it also said it will increase the recoil by 70%.....

i dont have a bolt but i do have an ac spark plug belt fed .dont ever shoot one it grows on you like a drug

Jimmy is a class 2 builder and he has that rifle and a bolt gun machined from a m2 barrel that must have a tripod. His first was a Checz made 12.9 trap door that he bought a bunch of ammo for 65 cents a round and still has plenty for bolt guns. If you look in that pic there is a 8mm hotchtkiss(spelling) kit that he is building now in semi. He actually came over to get my daughters Saudi boyfriend to translate the Arabic markings on the receiver.
