I Don't Think GOP Can Beat the Press

Palin should have been at the top of the ticket? Are you serious? Sees Russia from her back yard? ...

You realize she never really said it that way, right?

Tina Fey's parody is what's remembered.

Although when Sarah said it in context of competency of foreign policy with Russia, it was gonna stick out like sore thumb period.

Actual quote:

"They're our next-door neighbors, and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska."

the way Tina Fey said it came out a lot better anyway, LOL

At any rate Palin is a kiss of death. No wonder the party has tried to distance themselves from her.

McCain is too of course. I'm surprised he's been giving short blurb interviews as much as he has during this thing so far. Always the "maverick" I guess. Right.

Of course Dubya has become an unperson as far as the party is concerned. And Newt. Hell, they'd have to resurrect Ron himself to find an old GOP pol who'd actually help.

Just so you know, Mike, the GOP, if they actually

distanced themselves from her, it's because she

was the conservative. You can say you don't like

her, but that ain't good enough. She was the only

one adding votes for his campaign over any base

he may have had. He killed his campaign by the

so-called advisors he hired.

Trouble is that Romney has many of the same

ones. That is going to hurt him.

Yep, JC himself couldn't have won running under GOP.

Above all, Barack Hussein Obama is Dubya's ironic legacy.

All might have been different if he'd just not have gone into Iraq because he felt he had to do something big, combined with the boner to avenge his own daddy's legacy with the other Hussein.

Dumb ass cowboy -- Teddy Roosevelt he ain't.

I've tried to make that point since I joined this forum. Obama is President because "W" was a effing idiot.

Obama is President because there were more idiots that voted for him than there were people with any semblance of intelligence that voted for McCain.

Ok. If that gets you thru the night.

Oh ye of little faith.

1. Remember the results of the 2010 elections? The Tea Party candidates began winning local elections. They still are. Furthermore, we Tennesseans elected a Republican Governor, a Republican-controlled state House, and a Republican-controlled state Senate for this first time in history. These types of election results are slowly becoming the norm as Americans are starting to say, "Enough of this progressive/liberal/socialist BS." Look what happened to Lugar in indiana.

2. How many Obozo/Bidiot2012 bumper stickers are you seeing? I've noted a 75% - 80% reduction as compared to 2008. Of course, even with all of that overt support in 2008, the choomwagon express lost our state by a good margin. i expect an even larger margin this time around.

3. The "R&R" ticket is nothing like what they threw out there with McCain/Palin. The idiots refused to unleash the Governor. This election, Ryan is being unleashed and the other side has zero chance in a debate. Even if the debates will be hosted by far left moderators, all Romney and Ryan have to do is pull a Newt Gingrich answer on them and it will be all over. And now Newsweek (apparently trying to pull a Chik-Fil-A move) has an anti-obozo front cover.

4. The MSM nitwits continually underestimate the intelligence of the voting public (in most cases). While the classic liberal enclaves (Memphis in TN, ILL, CA, NY, Mass, etc.) will still remain blue, now WIS, VA, PA, and NC are leaning VERY right.

I see momentum to get the one out of the White House.

R&R 2012!

Good points. All we need to do is unite behind Romney- Ryan.

The major networks are losing influence and mostly appeal to the elderly who do not view news from the internet. You can tell by the advertisements during ABC, NBC, and CBS news. The big 3 networks brainwash people by telling them they know what is best for the population.

The elderly are more in play this election than usual, since SS and MediCare/MedicAid have become prominent issues. Older folks will probably determine winner in Florida just by themselves. Extremely unlikely Mitt could win without FL.

Scare tactics regarding these have always been relatively effective in the past, and we all know where those mostly come from.

The Republicans best tread lightly with talk of cutting SS and Medicare for the next 20-30 years or so. Something that is not often mentioned and probably not realized by many is the impact of the Baby Boomer generation. That 77 million strong contingent of the population born between 1946 and 1964 is starting to hit the retirement years and want what they have been promised and have payed for their entire lives.

And yet the boomers with their huge numbers and much lower numbers of children per household than their parents are why the SS/Medicare programs are so untenable. They didn't have enough kids the keep the pyramid pointed in the right direction.

I'm sure the prayers at the DNC won't help the Democrats either. The media will probably try to cover that up though depending on who is pulling the strings.
