If suing OPEC wasn't bad enough

You really have to stop using facts and economic understanding in your arguments. You need more emotion and feelings!:D

Yeah.

OK, Big Oil is out to screw us, with the Bush/Cheney/Halliburton crew right in there. They need to tax the hell out of oil companies and give the money to us. Nationalize the oils and you'll see the price go to 25cents/gal.

The Prez goes to Saudi Arabia and asks for a SECOND time for more oil to be pumped. Despite the BILLIONS we spend for our "ally" to help us, they turn us down . . . twice.

How much power do WE have?

They already increased production by 3%. Oil isn't the problem. Refinery capacity is the bigger problem. We import 13-15% of the fuel we use. Toss in the American Peso and we get absurd oil prices.

IOW, the Fed needs to butt out and let economics work. The more they meddle the worse it gets.

I argued that with an economics professor back in the late 60s. But they didn't take my advice. :D

Oil prices have "gone up" because the value of the dollar has gone down. You fix the dollar and you fix the oil problem.

And we support Saudi Arabia not because they and we are nice guys but because it is in our interest to do so. We did that with the Shah of Iran until the people got sufficiently tired of his oppression and deposed him. We really don't want Saudi to fall to the nutso religionists.

I like the idea of hydrogen fuel cells in cars but think about it.The price of a bottle of water is 1.00 to 1.25 so lets just say $1.00.

Theres 20 ounces in a bottle

Theres 128 ounces in a gallon.

So it would take a little over six (6) bottles to equal one (1) gallon at the cost of $6.00 a gallon

Gas as of now is around $ 4.00 a gallon (nat average I think)

If congress baned gas today in favor of water as a source of energy we the people would be loosing money. And as mentioned, big gas would in turn change to big water and the price would go up.

The only solution to this conundrum would be if it rained once a week and you piped the rain from your gutters into your fuel tank.(If I remember correctly tap water wont work because of the chemicals or something)

Yeah its pretty f`ed up that bottled water cost more then refined oil :D

I don't know where you buy your water, but go to Walmart and buy a gallon jug of water for like 60 cents. Same crap you get in the bottles for quite a bit cheaper.

I had a personal finance class in the early 90's with a real working finance guy. I had the choice between personal finance and some social/psych class and I really have never been PC enough to pass one of those. :P He was a through and through capitalist. We got along great. Some of the other people in the class weren't nearly as happy hearing how socialism was the cause for all the ills in the world today. :P
