Moviegoer accidentally shoots himself in the rear

Carrying an unsecured weapon is reckless. He was a danger to everyone around him and makes all of us that use proper equipment and procedures look bad. The no gun signs are put up because of idiots like him. He’s lucky be only shot himself.

I saw this on another forum. Many assume he had no holster, which is interesting. Maybe he did, maybe not, but it does not say. Could have worked loose in a pocket holster --- if you turned me upside down and shook long enough mine would eventually fall out too. Also curious what he had that went bang when dropped.... and did minor damage ..... thinking a .25 junk gun? (not all 25s are, but there are some).

Makes me wonder what type of guns these people are carrying that aren't drop safe. Also I am assuming it wasn't secured in a good holster otherwise it would not have fallen out. I don't have the nicest of holsters for my m&p9c, but on more than one occasion I have fallen asleep on the couch with it on - rolled around/tossed & turned and it hasn't fallen out.

Hope he is charged for his unsafe practices.

I hope he's charged too, maybe something like gross negligence. He's too dumb to be carrying a gun around, if he's not smart enough to control it.

I am all for anyone who wants to carry a weapon being able to do so, but when they prove that they can't be trusted to be responsible, they should lose the right, at least temporarily.

If the guy's story is true, it's one of those rare circumstances where the gun really did have a mind of its own. It's fortunate that it found the right target. I won't carry a gun that's not drop safe.

You guys are slipping....this is post #10 and I'm the first one saying...

"Shot in the butt? Must have been a Glock."

This isn't classic Glock butt if it really went off when he dropped it. It IS similar in one way. He really needed an extra hole in his butt. Good thing it was his butt, and not the person next to him.

I have dropped a Sigma out in the woods when I fell down over ten years ago out of a cheap holster. It was of course loaded with one in the chamber and nothing happened. I learned not to use a cheap holster. The Sigma is also drop safe.

He said it went off when he dropped it but I wonder. Maybe he was fiddling with it or adjusting it and hit the trigger and THEN dropped it, therefor making it a typical Glock-Butt ND. I wondered the same about the Murfreesboro guy who had a ND in a grocery store a few months back. He said it went off when he dropped it but I wonder about that.
