Recording SN's

My brother just had 2 handguns stolen in east Nashville. One was a SW 3913TSW and the other a two tone Bersa Thunder. Problem is he never recorded the serial numbers. I had one in my collection in the past and I am digging through old records trying to find it for him but I can't be sure I can find the right one. Point is record those SN's, keep a copy off site, email them to yourself, etc.

If nothing else just take photos of the serial numbers.

Good idea.

Taking photos of all my firearms as well as my other physical assets (mostly for insurance purposes) is something high on my to-do list. Unfortunately it's also time consuming. :)

I use "GunSafe" and have it updates to an offsite server. It keeps a really good record in an easy to use format. Also allows you to add pictures. I don't think you can get it anymore but I'm sure there are some others out there like it. here is where it used to be http://somanyroads.org/gunsafe/

I just used excel and saved it as a CSV so I can always import it into just about anything, at worst even notepad.
