how to move a post

How do I manage to move an older post of mine or someone elses to a new post but the one I want to transfer is listed under a different topic?

lol.. I read this to my wife and she said with and evil grin " dig dirt from around post and remove post. Dig new hole and insert Post"

I want to say that seems strange as I see other members reposting links to other posts. Those links are posted rather quickly so I dont think a moderator is involved in this move.

And just to clearify, In my OP I guess I should have said link instead of moving the entire post, So the question now is how do I post a link to another post?

Find the post you want in a list view, where it's "hot" to open with mouse. Right click on it, "copy link location".

Paste link in new post. (Edit, "paste" on windows menu or Ctrl+v on keyboard)

What he said, or do the same thing on the post number at the far right of the header. OS's post is #4 and mine is #5, right-click and copy location gives you a link to the post.

Edit.... another option, click the quote button in the lower right of the post. The quoted post will appear in the quick reply box. Copy and paste that where ever you want. It'll be linked back to the source.
