Why can't you keep your mouth shut?

Customer of the day, just after 6.

Comes in. I'm looking for some .38 shells for self protection.

OK, I pull out the Hornady 158gr JXP, a pretty good load. While there I hold up the new Tec9 in stock (see other thread) and say, you know anyone looking for a Tec9 I've got one. They haven't been made in years.

He says, not anyone can buy that, right?

No, you can buy them. (thinking he thinks it's a restricted Class3 or something)

Well, I can't. I got a felony. But my girlfriend can, right?

Geez. What is wrong with people?

So not only is he not buying a Tec9, he isn't buying any ammo either. Fitting end to the day.

You're a braver man than I, Rabbi! There's no way I could be a gun dealer in your area without 5-6 armed employees with me at all times. I remember the "fun" you had while I was in your shop with Strelcevina one day!! Crazy buncha' clowns out there.

Side note... I'm really hoping to get up your way again soon. I've got some little stuff you may want.

Take care!

Once, when working behind a gun shop counter, I was asked how many felonies one had to have before he could not buy a gun.

With a straight face, I said "One", and the dejected fellow hung his head and left the shop.

He probably sent his girlfriend in later to do the deed.:drama:

Damn it! I always miss all the good stuff at Rabbi's. I was in earlier today and though it was fun as always I never get to see any of the good stories as they happen.

justaguy is the one that did that great photoshop work!!

That was photoshopped? Hell, I thought that really was The Rabbi in urban camo demonstrating the proper carry technique using the 40 in the off-hand for balance of course. B)

Being new in the gun biz in my area (that and the fact that Oak Ridge is a teeny bit more white collar and white guy than Nashville's east side) those types of customers haven't found me yet but there is no doubt that they will. I need to get me a Mr. T bling set like The Rabbi's so they'll think I'm from the hood. I'm just not sure how those spinners would look on my Aerostar or my Bronco II. Hmmm. :P

Which reminds me I need to visit some time, if I ever remember.

Better start stocking up on Glock Nines and home-boy sights. B)

Hi-points with gold plated slides. Don't imagine what caliber would matter at all.
