Just got a SW MP15 Sport and after examining the handguard, it appears it is not a two piece handguard. I would like to remove the standard handguard and put a Magpul Moe handguard on. If anybody has removed this particular handguard, please reply with how to instructions of removing.

Slide the back holder thing back and it should come loose. I guess your suppose to use a special tool but I just did it with my hands. I know that's not the technical answer but it shouldn't be to hard.

Just took mine apart yesterday, wanted to add a bipod rail, was able to do it by hand myself. Remove bottom half first is best.

Found a rail package on eBay that will work with existing holes without having to change fore end to something else.

Be sure you've got enough hand room for whatever you're gonna add to it and where.

Carbine length doesn't give you too much leeway on sides and bottom. I got the shortest rail I could for bipod and got it as far forward as possible, but my hand still runs up on it some if firing standing up, and I don't have enormous hands.

I guess that's a big reason so many wind up with a vertical grip added, but I don't like those at all.

Did you get the Harris bipod..I've got the Harris on my AR10. Not planning on a bipod on the Sport unless I get the combo vertical grip and bipod. Probably going to put two rails on, on the side and bottom. Primary Arms has got alot of Magpul furniture with free shipping. I'm thinking of going olive drab color with rail, grip and stock.

Did you get the Harris bipod....

Nah, lower end UTC, rubber footed model, but it serves my purpose, and surprisingly well, just tried it out today. Not as rigid as external spring model, but lighter, and good 'nuff for moi. It comes with a little bit of swivel ability too, but I socked it down to not move in that way.

No doubt the Harris line is much better. Actually, even the $40 "Winchester" line Wally sells is better, but they don't have a rail model.

I know this is late on this topic but do you guys know if the flash hider is pinned or welded? If i buy one how hard would it be to change the gas block so i could put a mid length rail?

yea I just popped mine off and bolted a rail to the bottom to hold my forend grip. I had no need to replace their handguard, plenty of rails that will work this way.
