Inland M1 carbine

I could use some help and was told by a coworker today that this was the place to get it! I know a good bit about "modern" guns but have an m1 carbine that I know nothing about. It's an Inland, no import marks that I can see, with 1-44 stamped on the barrel (also marked inland). It has an adjustable rear site, push button safety, and round bolt carrier. I'm trying to find out the value of this gun but all I find is a range from $300 - $1500. I'm guessing mine is somewhere in the middle lower end but I really have no idea. Any help you could give me to determine what exactly this is and what it's value might be I'd greatly appreciate. I'll post some pictures I have now, if you need more information or pictures just let me know. I sincerely appreciate any help you can give me!!!

It's an Inland M1 Carbine with a walnut M2 stock. Nothing all that unique about it. It's been through arsenal overhall at least once.

What's an arsenal overhaul? And how many times through is one too many?

You probably saw my earlier post where I was too was seeking info on the M1 Carbine.

I actually plan on shooting mine (plinking / target shooting / maybe a little 3-gun?)

From what I can see, 6-800 assuming the bore is in good shape.

what mark said, if bore is in good cond and stock unsanded 700-800. Notice It still has the old school safety. BTW super fun shooters.

Yes they are. Strongly suggest, if you are intent on selling it, that you don't take it out for a spin first. An easily accurized, lightweight, easy handling carbine shooting the equivalent of a .357 Mag... To me the wood stock is a bonus, it doesn't have that 'badass black rifle' aura. Suitable for HD, trunkmonkey, SHTF...

If you shoot it then sell it, you'll regret it for a long, long, long time - or you'll end up getting another one.

Arsenal overhaul or rebuild is simply where it was turned in to an armory for depot-level maintenance. That is where it picked up the round bolt, adjustable sight, potbelly stock and the forestock band with bayonet lug. It may or may not have received a new barrel (doubtful). It doesn't appear to have the correct mag catch for the 30 round mag. Curiously, it didn't get the second model safety (lever vs pushbutton).

At a guess I'd say it was re-arsenaled twice - once for the D-day invasion, where it picked up the barrel band/bayonet lug, and once for Korea, where it was modded to an M-2 (select fire). Then at some point the trigger group was swapped back to M1 - probably for sale through the CMP.

Almost every M1 carbine and rifle have been re-arsenaled at least once. No big deal.

Gotthegoods, if you are in east tennessee, give me a shout. I'll look over your carbine for you, give you some tips on accurizing and maintenance, and we can shoot yours and mine (sadly, I am down to 4 carbines). They are a real hoot and a very viable HD choice.
