What do you consider the perfect gun for Steel Challenge Rimfire and Rimfire open.

I'm thinking about getting the Mark III Competition model.

i have the Mark III Competition with the 6 7/8" slab sided bull barrell and comp. wood grips. I love the gun but it is very heavy in comparison to the 22/45. I have shot the 22/45 with a "Tactical Solutions" aluminum barrel and it is night and day as far weight and/or ease of stopping the gun on target. I still love my gun and will continue to shoot it and try to keep up with the other guys. It's all a comfort thing anyway right?

I don't know. I only had a Ruger 22 for like 4 days. It was used and never cleaned. I shot it a few times racked the bolt numerous times before I came inside. Pointed it at the wall and pulled the trigger..........broke Mom's pretty picture window........... that was back in in 1993. Not had one since so it's not something I know a lot about.
