First off you brother going anywhere to confront anyone is a bad thing. Might be a por choice of words on your part but going looking for a confrontation is never going to end well. Perhaps the two gentlemen knew there was about to be a confrontation and they intervened to protect the girl your brother was going to confront. Your brother must have exited his vehicle if the adults were able to assault him. Exiting a vehicle when you have two obviously unstable men is not good judgement. Best to stay in the vehicle unless firearms are involved then a car is a death zone and you need to get out.

Now with that being said no person has the right to place their hands on someone else, especially an adult on a child. I am sure the alcohol affected their judgement. Sounds like the two older guys decided to open a can of "woop ass" but unfortunately they probably spilled it on themselves when they did.

As far as the officers go they should have at least filed a report. Then your brother could use that report to go sign a warrant himself. The officers making a recommendation to not file charges does not mean that your brother cannot. But realize it will be a "he said", "she said" court case and with no impartial witnesses the court will likely toss it out.

Not really sure how I would handle it but it sounds like you brother was not hurt physically so that is a non issue and the guys got what they deserved. As far as the vehicle damage, file with your car insurance and get it repaired by the other guy's insurance.

There is always 3 sides to the story. You are only getting one side I wouldn't get to wrapped up him telling you they said not to prosecute. If he has their information he can go down to appropriate court and swear out warrants then he will have to appear in court for the hearings.

pressing charges against known dope dealing drunk and violent people in a case where you have a low chance of them being put away for any real time? You want these guys mad at you/him, mad enough to do something even more stupid?? If you can't kill em then & there at least don't create an enemy that will kill you later.

Let it go, but be alert & wary --- as you would be anyway.

Well…. We weren’t there and you weren’t there. We have no idea what happened; but the cops do. As a cop would I have told someone that got slapped around it would be best not to push making a complaint? Yes, I have told groups that if I start arresting people everyone is going.

Drugs, girlfriends and little brothers were involved…. Be glad you weren’t there with a gun. :)

Yeah I dunno nothin but was kinda surprised the policeman didn't haul everybody in for drunk & disorderly? The other two guys were real drunk and had been driving? And didn't go to jail for DUI?

Tn, glad it went as well as it could. I think your right from the sound of it your bro needs new friends, ones that won't get him in a crazy mess like that to begin with or at least get out of the car and have his back.

I'd probably leave this alone and just remember the who, what, where. Glad your bro is safe and unharmed.

That is scary stuff...

I never used to think about situational awareness..

I came home one day and for some reason I did not lock my door or took my wallet out of the car. I wasnt inside my door yet and a car pulled up behind my car with 2 hispanic males inside. I turned around to go back and see what they wanted and passenger gets out.. opens my passenger door and takes my wallet and leaves.. this happend so fast. I ran after them and yelled a few choice words and called the cops.. of course they where long gone.

I thought no one would come up my driveway and KNOW I had left my wallet in my car.

It costs me over 500 bucks to get my green card replaced .. Now it stays at home. I just wondered if they knew I had one and I was targeted for it.. just odd..

It wont happen again..:)
