AR Sling

Howdy all... After messing around with three gun fun I am kind of interested in finding a better sling. When I was on active duty I fashioned one out of 550 cord, 100 mile an hour tape and the duty sling and used it allot when the brass wasn't around. We weren't allowed nice slings. Nowdays I see so many I am not sure what I want. I do know that I want something wide and / or padded and no bungee. I have a single point now but am not married to a single point. Adjustments would be nice for left handed shooting but again, not wedded to the idea.

Options that anyone has used?

May sound strange, but I purchased an Arsenal, Inc. Sling Black AK-340BT for my SGL21 and liked it better on my AR. It's wide and not bungee. It's loops through at the stock.

I'm a big fan of the Viking Tactics wide sling. I like having the extra padding and the fast adjustments for sling length. IMO getting that sling nice and tight makes a big difference in any unsupported shooting. And not really an issue for a lot of the civilian community but i like being able to quickly adjust between different lengths for with body armor and without.

I wondered about the Viking Tactical myself. I have an M4 style AR and was wondering does it require special hardware to mount it?

I'll google the other one and check it out. I had a galco sling but it has disappeared one me and was a real bear to put on the weapon.

I too recommend the Viking Tactics sling. The quick adjustability is a huge plus. As long as your rifle has the sling attachment points you dont need any special hardware to mount it. The sling is top notch IMO.

That looks a lot like a Vickers sling. I have one of those with QD hardware.

Yeah mine has no attachment points so I will have to find something probably that goes on a rail.

I really like being able to remove my slings. I rarely use them. They're all rigged with QD points, even my bolt guns.
