New XD 45 Compact

Phantom6 ordered this for me and it came in today. It comes with a 10 round mag, and a 13 round esstended clip. I ran about 100 rounds through it this evening and it performed perfectly, well as perfectly as any non Glock gun can.

now while i do believe the XD is faaarrrr superior to the glock in many ways, one is not magazine capacity.last i checked, the G21 (fullsize .45) has a 13+1 capacity, same as a XD-45 tactical or XD-45 service. the G30 (subcompact .45) has 10+1, same as XD-45 compact.

for me the Glock is VERY top heavy with an empty magazine, never held one outside of a gunshop. the XD is much more balanced. i like the grip safety it has also. the thinner grip and the 1911-style grip just feels right to me. i have no problem with my XD aside from needing a better grip surface, something more ergonomic.

The 45 XD compact with the extended mag is the same as the 4" service XD.

With the extended mag...the XD compact holds 13+1. The capacity is the same as the glock when the extended mag is used.

Now that is a differnce worth having. I dunno about that Glock grip angle. Dunno how the 1911 angle can be bettered. I say the grip angle is a big selling point.

The 4" XD45 is the same size as a G23 and has 13+1 of 45 vs 13+1 of 40. The XD45 Compact is slightly (very slightly) large than a G27, 10+1 of 45 vs 10+1 of 40. It is SMALLER than the Glock 45 offerings with equal ammo capacity, ergo, a magazine capacity advantage. It is STILL behind the Para widebody 1911's in same size guns by one.
