Mark I did find one box or speer .454 today. also it seems like wine wants #10 caps, the #11 falls off.

Hope you had a good trip. I shall see you sunday morning right?

XD, you may need to learn to pinch the caps. Make them football shaped as you put them on. My '51 said it needs #10's but they are really hard to seat. #11's work pretty good on all my guns. Remingtons are easier to pinch than CCI. I pretty much only use the CCI when I am out of Remmy's

Thanks Mike but just in case I did get a tin of #10 today. I've been wondering about the balls also.Does .454 work well in all .44 cal, or does one try .451?

Posted

some guns may work better with the .451, but I believe they all work just fine with .454. I have used .451 balls and they seem less accurate.

Both of my Pietta's and my Uberti work great with .454 balls.

between a $180 BP revolvers and the $350+ BP revolvers

I need more information to make a call on this statement.

There are many kind of revolvers. It depends. You cannot compare a Walker to a

.36 caliber Navy to a Pocket Police to a '51 Navy in .44.

A lot depends on the type of reproduction it is and the maker of that reproduction.

Good cause I never thought of it till after I bought a box & a mold in .454. O I didn't tell you I think I have Trippledigitride interested in BP!!!

I think I have Trippledigitride interested in BP!!!

BP is where its at. Nothing like reloading as you go. No need for fancy reloading gear, just balls, caps and powder. Shoot away.

Ya, It looks like I'm gonna get the same one you did. I hate to be a copy cat, but knowing nothing about BP, I figure it would be better to start with something on the cheap side.

That is what I thought ( gotta start somewhere). Hey Mike what thread was it you posted the pics of your pistols in? I think that will drive him over the edge, It did me anyway.

Check your local gun shops & compare prices is what I would do. You can look back on the other BP threads. There has been some pretty informative stuff going on in there.

The bottom right one without the loading lever was that the cattleman? I want one of the smaller ones now. I may not need to shoot Marks this weekend.

Nice collection.

I really like the long barrels. I saw one with a 9" or 10" barrel on that site. I found myself going back to it, but I'm not sure I want to invest quite that much on my first.

Go back and review the threads here in the last month. you will find a lot of links and tons of good info for purchasing firearms and components.

the Uberti Cattleman is awesome. I load it with 30 grains of fff and a .454 ball. Dab a little Crisco over the ball and pound away..

I will testify that the cylinder loader that comes with that gun sucks. It is inferior compared to what I bought from Dixie. Will it work? Yes.

TDR, the Colts and Remington are either 7.5 or 8 inch barrels. My Remmy is a 5.5 inch barrel. I dunno about any 10 inch ones. Maybe ask the ladies, ohhhh LOL

your links look good for now XD

Here are a couple of good sites if for no other reason than the porn
