Me too. The barrel nut part for standard barrel nuts works real well. The castle nut wrench could be better. Guess that doesn't matter so much. If you don't stake you castle nut, it WILL shoot loose. The muzzle device part of the wrench is too thick as well. So, I bought a second cheap tool for castle nuts and muzzle devices. Can't recall which brand

The muzzle device worked fine for the comp I used on my build, and I used a magpul UBR which had its own built in buffer tube setup and no castle nut needed.

I am sure I will have to improvise on my next build, and end up getting some specific wrenches for those duties as well. Especially since as much as I loved my UBR I won't be able to afford to put one on every one of my builds anytime soon.

Yeah. The wrench is so thick that it gets squeezed between the muzzle device and crush washer. Had it happen more than once with a standard A2 flash hider.

I've had the tit on two of these DPMS wrenches shear off. I use one of the cheapo $5 for the castle nut.

I've had it slip off and gouge the nut. The 3 point cheapies are great.

I've been using one I picked up from J&T at a gunshow for years now. Looks a lot like the DPMS but I didn't have any problem with flashhiders though.

Is it bad I've tightened a flash hider on with an adjustable wrench?

If you left mark..then yes. If you didn't leave marks then no. :)
