Obama Authorizes Secret Support to the Syrian Rebels

I heard on NBC News this evening that Obama has signed authorization for secret aid for the Syrian Rebels. He is authorizing the CIA and U.S. Military Special Operations to start working with the Syrian Rebels to remove Assad from power. Sounds like we are about to get into the middle of a Civil War.

No, they have not.

Do a little digging on this most recent leak. It authorizes support in the form of communications equipment with encryption capability. This doesn't involve a single US footprint on Syrian soil. The rebs have been using captured radios from Syrian police and military along with what they could acquire on the open market, which would equate to Walmart motorolas.

Any help he gives won't be enough by his own designs. He's not rooting for the rebels if you consider how he felt about the "Arab Spring".

This is only re-election bid politics. He knows good and well his actions won't get a socialist regime in there. It's all show, and besides,

Putin will slap him down if he messes too much in their satellite state(or they would like to think so, anyway).

I guess it could get a few of our soldiers killed, eventually. I am certain he doesn't care about that. He doesn't give a damn about our soldiers. I bet it will eventually end up with our footprints on the ground.

I don't think we'll get involved with real support. There is no outcome to this with favorable winners. I suppose the leak of this information was to boost Obama's image in the wake of all the press reports of the UN dragging their feet. Obama knows better than to have boots on the ground there. He would never risk the fallout this close to an election of US personnel being caught in that country.

But it's a pretty well known tactic of a poor excuse of a President to use something like this to get re-elected. It was definitely intended to boost

his image, but I doubt the UN is the engine that needs gas. Obama's campaign is suffering and crazy Democrats love to lob missiles to

divert attention from any real issues. Clinton was a master of that tactic. He used it to divert attention away from his problems of leaving a

certain type of DNA on Monica Lewinsky's blue dress.

i'm inferring this is only a tactic of just Democrats, but they do have a higher propensity towards it.
