Flash Mobs

It appears flash mobs are happening more frequently with impunity across the country in retail stores stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. I feel that this fad for thugs is only going to increase with innocent bystanders getting hurt or killed. Does the thought of possibly being surrounded by these flash mobs in a retail store give you more concern in making sure that you have your carry gun with you at all times.

Any thoughts about these flash mob thugs.

The ones that I have seen online have been non-violent. That isn't to say that it couldn't turn into a violent situation with mob mentality and such. If I were in a store that was getting mobbed I would just leave. However, if it turned violent, as far as I'm concerned a crowd of 100 versus me isn't fair odds and would qualify in the "fear for my life" category. On that note, I am pretty certain that a bunch of teenage thugs aren't willing to die just so they can get some lickies and chewies for free. I would expect to see a-holes and elbows when the first one screams "oh sheet, cracker gots a gat cuz!"

Depends on where I am in the store. If a mob walks in and starts doing what mobs do, and I'm close to the door, I'm getting myself and anyone with me out of there. If I'm not close to the exit, but can get myself safely there, then I'm GTFO.

But if there's someone between me and the door, and they're trying to be tough guys and keep me from leaving, then they're in for a big surprise.

I think most all posters have hit the "flash mob" thing on the head. The "flash mob" thing is, in my opinion, a pre-orchestrated, pre-meditated, thuggish tool conceived by the trashy among us to steal with. Take a look at where these "flash mobs" happen. What we are seeing here in this country in regards to "flash mobs" is nothing more than gutter trash moving from across the tracks and stealing from eachother to mainstreet (...if ya can call the mall "mainstreet" --- ill admit to havin problems with that one, as i hate the "mall" thing...).

The perpetrators of these "flash mobs" are gambling that law enforcement wont bother to corral them, and that the stores wont prosecute them. The "flash mod" is simple product of the feminization of our society. Most no one will step up and put the club to these thugs, and they know it.

I give this advice almost daily to my dear wife: "...stay away from the mall and be watchful of your surroundings...". Of course, she never heeds the "mall thing"; but she is doin pretty good at watching.

My concern with all this stuff is that there well may be day comming (...and it well could be here now in some of the bigger cities....) when these thugs move from stealing from retailers to killin people they dont like to take what they have ALA what is goin on in lots of formerly "civilized" locations in africa (...think the former british colonies like South Africa here....).

TMF, I didn't learn Ebonics. What was that last sentence? :D

It translates loosely to "Oh my! Friends, it appears as if the caucasian gentleman we are accosting has a firearm with which to defend himself!"

Wonder what would happen if a bunch of concealed carriers put a flash mob together and all went to open carry at the set time and place??? Be neat to see public reaction to about 50 open carriers at once.

I'm guessing there would be a sudden and overwhelming smell of urine and feces followed shortly by the police. ;)
