I currently have a sig p238, but i am thinking i want the m&p shield 40. Should i trade the sig for a shield?

Actually i love everything about the sig, i can conceal it no problem in any type clothes, no malfunctions. I was just thinking for pretty close to the same size i could carry a 40 instead of 380...thanks for the input though

I would keep the 238 if you paid much for it. Their price has dropped, and a used on is not gonna sell for enough to justify your losses. If I sold mine I would probably lose 200 or more against what I paid.

BTW I dislike the .40 --- its not terribly customizable in reloading, and it eats up round count in most carry guns to gain marginal amounts of energy/momentum over a 9.

I persoally would carry a 9mm or larger. Maybe trade for Kahr PM9 or CM9. Good dependable and concealable small carry guns.

I'd opt for 9mm instead of .40 anyway.

it's more pleasant in a smaller package with negligible difference in performance.

<----PM9 owner. Love it. I got mine before the CM9 came out otherwise I'd probably decided to save about 200 bucks.

I also say no, but I also don't agree that you'd be getting a pistol that is close to the same size as the P238 with the Shield....the Shield is quite a bit larger to me. I do like the Shield 9mm, but not as a pocket gun. I think it would make a great IWB gun.

I came home last night with a P238 Equinox. Only bought it because a friend was needing money and so to help him out I bought it. Upon seeing it, my wife decided she wanted it. I told her the only way she could keep it was to either let me have her Shield or CW9, as she has no need for all three of them. I think she has decided to part with the Shield. It's a decent gun, but I don't think it does anything better than the CW9. Personally I like the CW9s trigger better. And with all the hysteria over the Shield, I know if I decide to, I can sell it quickly and get most of my money back.

I think the P238 is a neat little gun. Not my taste personally, but a neat little gun none the less.

I pocket carry it in soft holster, no one has made it yet.
