opinions on Doublestar ar's

Recommended Posts

I'm new to AR's and don't know much about them, but I've been offered, what i feel is a good deal on any brand AR, a Doublestar flat top "everday run of the mill rifle". I just want opinions, good, bad or indifferent about this brand. Great deal or not I dont want to drop any amount of money on crap.

If its all double star, they are worth the money as long as they are not overpriced. And some of them are. Which is the case in all guns too.

They will run and have improved their quality immensely in the last year or two.

If that's what I had, I would not be upset about it. I've had a couple. Never had a problem with them. I have a J&T upper right now. Had a slight issue at first but it all worked out well. I ended up fixing it myself but the guys at J&T were begging to let them fix it. I don't know what the relationship between J&T and Doublestar is but they're good to go.

Never actually had a Doublestar rifle. But I have built many ARs using J&T parts which I would assume are the same. Their customer service has always been top notch. Have been buying from them long before everybody started selling AR parts. If Bravo Co. had not come along I would probably still be buying most my stuff from them.

AFAIK, J&T is the retail/distributor arm of the same folks who produce Double Star rifles and parts.

That was my thinking.

There's a younger guy that works the shows. He's always been cool as heck with me and taken good care of me. I've bought a good deal of stuff from them.
