Obama: ‘AK-47s Belong in the Hands of Soldiers, Not in the Hands of Criminals’

Ouch, hit a nerve there :drama: . Glad I could do that for you.

And yes, lots of posts here confirm that there sure are a lot of government-paranoid gunowners. Good for you , too that you are the only one who reads history

Anybody else would like to recite my introduction post to show nothing or would like to make a funny joke about my cute doggy picture? Go ahead, I am all game  .

OOOOK, then.

A. No nerves hit. Don't overinflate your importance.

B. The fact you thought you did, and were glad about it, is somewhat curious.

Anyway, my compliment on your defensive mindset still stands.

I forgot you weren't raised here. Paraphrase of something attributed to Harry Truman, "If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog." Thought it might apply to this topic thread, too.

Comparing Europe to America is like comparing boiling water to ice. There was a time when Americans valued freedom

and the other things(life and the pursuit of happiness) more than anything. Some of us still feel that way. That's why we

still have an old parchment to that effect, even if some politicians wipe their asses with it. Some of us may even have to

show our resolve on the topic, although I sincerely hope that doesn't have to happen. It's also sometimes a reason some

people end up in this country. Immigrants like the freedom. I hope you do, too.

BTW, cool dog :D

No, I certainly do like freedom, although I didn't think my freedom was infringed upon in Europe either. I came here for my husband. The pooch in my avatar is not mine but pulled off of Google. I have two Australian Shepherds at home.

I completely understand that the need exists to have guns - hey, that's why I got one now! I was just trying to lay out some options that could help keep guns out of criminal's hands without having to call for weapons bans. Contrary to others, who have no ideas to show, but only come on here to whine about certain people or certain political parties. What has ever been accomplished by whining or finger-pointing?

Ah, yes, I have heard that before. Should be clear to anybody no matter what party you belong to ;).
