Wilson combat makes a suppressor specifically for the .458socom

Yep, but it's $1200. I'd like to see the performance before I dropped that coin + tax stamp.

I'll happily supply the ammo and my 10.5" 458 to anyone who can arrange a demo of this can.

I email Wilson Combat about specs of their .458 can. Below I their response

Neil,

The .458 can is still on the drawing board. I’m sure that there will be a video for it, it is just too cool not to.

As far as db reduction, don’t drink the cool-aid. There are no industry standards to make everyone conduct the reduction measurements the same way with the same equipment.

Decibel reduction is subjective and can be manipulated by the type, angle and distance of the microphone, the type and quality of the sound measuring device, and the environment and atmospherics of where the test is made (indoors vs. outdoors, baffled walls or bare, cloudy or clear, windy or still.)

Without using numbers to describe performance, our can makes a 5.56 sound about like a .22 Mag. I can’t wait to hear what it does with the .458.

Best Regards,

Scott Fisher

Silencer Research does a very good job of testing all the silencers on the same playing field. It is worth the $30 membership to be able to research his database of hundreds of suppressors, and their performance. in a well thought out manner.

I know his site was instrumental in my Form 1 22lr can design.

Wilson cans are all titanium w hich doesn't make them that much more than say YHM titanium can. plus there 20% off coupons are not that hard to come by most poeple will not pick one up off a prize table because they just think the hi end 1911. still waiting on the can, but my 6.8 can with brakes for 223 and 6.8, with NP3 finished bolts for each and there 5.56 fluted barrel and TTU was under 2k.

so even with stamp and the local dealer fee it will be around $1,200 total.
