Leaving Tennessee

Good luck in your new job. Alabama is OK. They talk funny and have weird ideas about barbecue but they are good people. I left Tennessee for the same reason, a job. I sure miss Nashville, Crossville and the Cumberland Plateau.

I am leaving TN to be close to my daughter, I was just fortunate to find a job that allowed me to do that.

The Auburn fans are the better ones... Anyways, I would recommend having a tornado bag with enough stuff to survive and possibly protect what's left for a few days should you ever be so unfortunate. After living in Alabama for a while and through A LOT of tornado warnings and seeing what happened to Tuscaloosa, I decided it just made sense to have a bag made just in case.

I believe the same tornado outbreak sent one through Cullman, just east of the downtown area and absolutely destroyed it. It was weird going through there this winter and there were no where it went along the top of this ridge line.

We went to a Bama football game last fall, and couldn't believe the amount of damage in Tuscaloosa. Stores that we used to use as landmarks were completely gone.

The best to you and the fam. You gotta do what you gotta do, right? Good luck at the new job and location.

By the wat, I don't think you have to give up your membership here at TGO.

Good luck with the move. If you ever get back through Franklin Co., look us up. As a TN fan and as much as I dislike AL in the Fall, it has to be worlds better than Memphis on quite a few levels.

Best of luck to you! Please keep visiting us. The Internet goes all the way to Alabama too. :)

I will still be in Franklin County pretty often. That's where the in- laws live.

This site will most likely stay my most visited....I've learned a lot about water moccasins and bigfoot on here.

Just went through downtown Cullman last week and it's still tore up.
