As of right now, I'm leaning toward the AC just due to the fact that I could carry it if I wanted to. However, I like both pistols so I look forward to seeing what everyone posts. I'll be sure to post a picture this evening with the pistol I bring home.

I am an official 1911 owner!

I will post pictures as soon as I'm home. Let's just say everyone will be surprised.

.... I feel they made a bone headed move by changing the design....

Tim,

I heard there was something different about the R1s.

What did Remington do?

Thanks,

.... Here it is at last!!!

A SIG!!!!!!!!!

Well DONE Sniper23!

OK, this will shock some folks on the forum being that I'm sort of know as a Old School Colt guy.

But JMHO...., The current Sig is the best value for the money 1911 out there right now.

Yes I have one (TACOPS), and Yes they are very accurate!

They changed the vertical impact surface. Here is a pic that shows the cut (Ken Mays Pic). This will put way more stress on the lower barrel lugs.

Thank you DMark! I went there intent on one of the others. However, when I saw this Sig for the price I knew it was coming home with me. B)

I have a R1 and have shot at least 3000 rds through it. Great gun, especially for the price. I have had only 1 FTF with RN. Two 4 day classes @ 600 rds each with only that one issue. It is my go to gun for things that go bump in the night. BUT, great choice on the Sig. I bought one recently and it is sweet. Several hundred rounds through it and the accurracy is fantanstic. For the money the Sig is the best value out there IMO.....

I handled everything from Citadel & Metro Arms, all the way up to many Springfields, Colts, S&W's and Kimbers. After it was all said and done, I felt this Sig was "the most gun for the money". I am pleased with it as my first 1911 and even more so pleased because it was within my self allotted budget.

As of yesterday, Kings had 1911's from Citadel, Metro Arms, Remington R1, Remington R1 Enhanced, 2 Colts, several Springfields, a S&W, Sig, and many Kimbers. I've bought a few guns from there. They always treat me right and I'm happy to support my local gun store.
