Introducing Captain Jack

We picked him up at the Nashville airport 2 weeks ago, he is a 7 month old Congo African Grey he had Jet Lag pretty bad as he was on the Red Eye flight from the Emerald Gardens bird sanctuary in San Diego to us. I have to say that he is by far the best Bird I have ever been around. He was a hand fed baby and it shows he loves my little girls and the whole family. What a wonderful intelligent animal these guys are, we absolutely love this little guy!

Beautiful! Does he get to roam around the house, or does he stay in a cage most of the time?

we have 3 house dogs and they are not use to him yet, his cage is huge he stay in there most of the time while he gets use to us. I take him out and have trained him to ride on my shoulder and that of my oldest little girl so he has plenty of time all around the house but for now it is supervised as i worry about one of the dogs going after him.

if i had no dogs or cats, he would not need a cage only a perch he is very cool
