I've been jonesin for a 1911 for a while and today was offered a deal I couldn't refuse. Rock Island Tactical with tan Ergo grips, two of the ACT mags. 150 rounds made up of 32 wwb, 50 Tulammo, and 75 rounds of Hornady Tap, and a decent leather holster from Paraguay. It's got it scratches, but I believe I've got a keeper. Best part is I got the whole kit for less than half for what these things go for new. Plan on running at least half of these rounds through it tommorow. My question is this: About 40 of the Hornadys are 230 gr +p. Does anybody think this might be asking for trouble with the cast frame?

Thanks guys, I figured it was GTG but thought I'd ask. I actually went through all the ammo yesterday. The only hitch was a 185 gr Hornady Tap got stuck on the feed ramp. It was the first round out of the mag and i just hit the slide from the back and it wiggled on in. There is something to be said about a $200 1911 that will eat ammo like a glock. I had two magazines loaded with two rounds each of Tul Ammo 230gr fmj, WWB 230 gr fmj, Hornady 185gr Tap and Hornady 230 gr +P and emptied both mags in a little over ten seconds without a hitch.

No pics = didn't happen;)

I assume the seller really likes you because $200 would usually get you a Hi-Point 45 kept in a toolbox, behind the seat of a truck, that crosses train tracks daily, when it comes with that kind of ammo.

Pics would be really nice :)
