New to the forum and only have a few minutes this morning to look around.

I will be in Pigeon Forge for a few days with my family and have a couple questions that I could not find answers for in the few minutes I have.

I am a permit holder in Georgia and I know Ga and Tenn are reciprocal

I know that posted signs carry weight in Tenn (unlike Ga) so do not carry there.

Can I carry (where lawful) with a round in the chamber?

Can I carry in Cades Cove? Are parks clearly posted for no carry?

Is there a "must inform" law in Tenn if stopped by LE?

Any advice concerning carry while visiting?

Thanks!

Can I carry in Cades Cove? Are parks clearly posted for no carry? Yes, it is a National Park so carry is legal but I believe buildings like the visitor's center is off-limits.

Is there a "must inform" law in Tenn if stopped by LE? No, but most recommend that you do.

Can I carry (where lawful) with a round in the chamber? Yes. An unloaded gun is an expensive hammer.

Can I carry in Cades Cove? Are parks clearly posted for no carry? Park carry law is very confusing here. It's ok to carry in the national park ground even though you may see gun buster type signs at trailheads for example. However, you cannot carry inside any buildings on park property that are posted. Same thing for state parks. City/County parks get even worse.... I believe you cannot carry in Knox county or Knoxville City parks. You can carry in Blount County/Maryville City/Aloca City parks, even though they may posted.

Is there a "must inform" law in Tenn if stopped by LE? Not in TN, Yes in NC. It's always a good idea, IMO.

Any advice concerning carry while visiting? Keep it concealed and you'll be fine. Enjoy your stay.

Thanks!

- Yes. No round in the chamber OF A LONG GUN. Pistols can be ready to go. No place I have heard of has this restriction on pistol.

- TN parks can be posted but if not you may carry there. I do not go to a lot of them --- maybe national parks are a no-go? Not sure about the specific location try the website for the park if any?

- No. If the officer asks, you must answer true, but you don't have to volunteer your status.

Buildings in state parks are not off limits like those in national parks.

Knoxville City parks are off limits via local ordinance but are not posted. AFAIK, it's the only city in the state that is this way.

Knox County parks are legal for carry.

Back from Tenn. and had no issues at all. I carried everywhere I went (except Dollywood).

Thanks for the help!
