I kinda of was thinking of a trip to the ER, good I was wrong.

Looks nice, answer to TMF is what I am looking for as well.

Yeah man, I used a steel wool attachment to take the finish off some pistol mags and shine 'em up, but it was far too abrasive and left some swirl patterns on there. I was looking into polishing up a slide and didn't want to make that mistake on it.

What attachment did you use on your dremel to polish it?

I used the dremel felt polishing wheel, (the 1/2x3/8 wheel). And some turtle wax rubbing compound. Hehe thankfully no injuries. Well except for a polished fingernail :/ but some 600 grit sand paper will fix that.

i couldnt leave well enough alone.. i shipped the slide to Tim Calhoun http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/user/2319-timcalhoun/ today, its going to be flat topped with a dovetail front sight cut and novak rear cut. The unique part will be that the new EGW melt bushing i put on will be flat topped with it! i will be finishing it myself with Duracoat tactical black after i get it back. Ill get pictures up of Tims work before it goes to paint unless he wants to post some up :D

Your gun is in GREAT hands. Tim does phenominal work.

From what I have seen of his work I have no doubts about that! I have wanted a flat top 1911 for awhile and never considered just sending my slide off until I saw the pictures of his work. I have a feeling after this my kimber is going to end up being sent to him too.

I picked up a ruger redhark a few months ago I want to polish,it was used and has a few scratches

Id like to dremel out.....I own a dremel but no polishing wheels or rouge...

Anyone can tell me what to buy it would be cool....

Using the dremel the way I did ended up with a mirror polish. So if you start out with this method you will end up doing the whole gun. From what I am seeing a lot of people have good results with the scotch pad method. Just Google removing scratches from stainless guns.

Whichever method you use take your time and go slow.
