Shipping a gun for repair...

Posting this for my father,

He needs to return his PF9 to Kel Tec, Kel Tec is telling him that he needs to ship it via a FFL. When I returned my M&P9 to S&W, they told me just to package it up and ship it via fedex, which I did, and it came back to me the same way. Does his PF9 need to go via an FFL or can he just package it up and send it off??

No need to ship from an FFL. He can ship it direct to KT and they'll ship it direct back to him.

Perfect, I'll direct him to this post so he can see for himself. He refuses to post despite having an account on here....

bkelm18 is correct. No FFL is required.

Both UPS and FedEx will ship it for him. They simply require that you advise them it is a firearm and then they require that it is shipped overnight. To be clear, the shipping overnight is the company policy, not a law, regardless of what the clerk at Kinko's tells you.

I have used FedEx twice to ship guns back to the mothership, both times with no problems. It costs roughly $50 to ship.
