Are you proud of America?

That is truly preaching to the choir on this site. But here's the TNGOP zinging it to Michelle Obama:

http://www.youtube.com/tennesseeGOP

I have to say, while I'm happy to see them playing hardball I would think they could come up with something more substantive. There are so many excellent reasons to oppose Obama just on his policies, that no one has to mention the most Rev Wright or his wife's new-found pride. Maybe if they focused on Obama's plan to socialize medicine here, or raise taxes, or go meet with bloodthirsty lying dictators then voters would get some idea how bad an Obama presidency would be.

Proud to be an American... You bet I am.

But not proud of either political party. They have been bought and paid for by big business and this country is going down the tubes because of it.

I'm afraid that if the majority of Americans are blindly deceived into voting Obama into office, he will totally destroy the good and long relationship our country has enjoyed with the nation of Israel... not to mention all the other disastrous things he would do.

Proud to be an American. Obama can suck my gun and rot in hell if he cant take pride over America and he should step down from the presidental nominee if he and his wife make so many negative remarks about being not proud to be an American.

I have also read that Obama is the only senator who does not and will not wear a American Flag pin. He also does not pay his respect when the National Athem is played.

I think that was one of those things that he did one time and the media totally over blew it.

I will add to that, Ron. Many of the politicians are also in it with big business to make all the money they can make.

Look to the Quotes of Thomas Jefferson:

"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."

"If God is just, I tremble for my country."

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. "

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. "

"The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive. "

"A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine. "

"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government. "

"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent. "

"Every generation needs a new revolution. "

"Every citizen should be a soldier. This was the case with the Greeks and Romans, and must be that of every free state. "

"Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves are its only safe depositories. "

"Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny. "

"For a people who are free, and who mean to remain so, a well-organized and armed militia is their best security. "

"History, in general, only informs us of what bad government is. "

"I own that I am not a friend to a very energetic government. It is always oppressive. "

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. "

"I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever. "

"It behooves every man who values liberty of conscience for himself, to resist invasions of it in the case of others: or their case may, by change of circumstances, become his own. "

I am assuming you mean The United States of America.

That being the case, HELL NO, I am not proud of what we as americans have allowed this country to become. I can guarantee our forefathers have rolled in their graves over the **** that has been allowed to take place in our country. I think its time we take back our country and return it to what it once was and was always meant to be. RISE UP AMERICA!

Am I proud to be an American? You bet ya. Am I proud of what our politicians have done to this once great country? No way. Do I wish the people would wake up and quit electing these yahoo's? You bet ya. Do I think it will happen? Nope. Do I think this country is headed for another civil war? Probably by my grandkids life time. Do I think another depression is coming? Yup, probably within the next 20 years.

I love America, no matter what problems we have I think it's still the best place in the world. That being said I wonder how long that will continue. There are a lot of people out there who don't seem to mind so much the slide towards socialism we are taking, people want cradle to grave protection from the government and seem very happy (or just too stupid to notice) giving up their freedoms. I'm all for capitalism and making $$$ but the corporations are taking over and are really the ruling force these days. ALL our politicians are bought and sold and that disturbs me....again I'm not anti business in any way, shape or form but sometimes I wonder if they have too much influence.

But still, I'm very thankful I live here instead of Burma or Nigeria or some other third world hell hole, and as much as I complain about taxes I'm glad I'm here rather than some tax happy country like many in Europe are.

Not exactly Rabbi, we have several water towers available here, and they are first class.

The question was proud OF America, not proud to be american. I am proud to be american. But if we americans don't stand up soon there will be no more americans. America was supposed to be the land of the free. We are far from being free. The few freedoms we have left come with a price tag attached to them. yadayadayada I could go on for days.

By the way, I am an american american if you wondered.

I am proud to be American, I am proud of the way my nation has lead the way in trying to make the world a better place. This thing that we have now is nowhere close to the America our founding fathers gave birth to. Both parties have sold out to the banks of the world and our leaders are the agents of said banks. Our children are forced to think the way congress decides and our roll as parents and mentors has been all but nuetered. Liberty has been done away with. Evey year our rights are diminished in the name of politically correctness or homeland security, take your pick. I am ashamed of what this great nation has been taken to in the name of greed. I honestly feel like she's rolled over and we are just waiting for the hull to slide under the depths.

Heres my take on the candidates we have been offered. The three stooges comes to mind.

Reading comprehension a little off?

The previous post suggested returning the country to what it had been at the founding. That was a 3rd rate power on the backside of nowhere.

We are well past that stage now. We are the pre-eminent superpower. We work in general more selflessly than any other country, out of a sense of duty. Often this is misplaced. Often it is unappreciated. But the good intentions are there.

We are a people who literally dropped everything and went at personal expense to ground zero in the wake of 9/11 to help. Have you seen films of Chinese dropping everything to help their brethren after the earthquake? Have you seen films of Burmese driving great distances to help their countrymen? No.

Americans lead other countries in personal generosity. In general we are not tolerant of corruption, especially at the local level, unlike most other countries. We are overly concerned with what is fair and just. We dislike extremes. We have purged ourselves of racism and anti-semitism to a remarkable degree.

We continue to enjoy a level of personal and political freedom that 95% of the world only dreams about. We have a level of economic security unknown in world history.

The pantywaists and nay-sayers would have you think the country is going to hell in a handbasket. They would tell you big corporations control everything and the deck is stacked against you. Don't believe it. They are venting their own frustrations over their lack of personal achievements. This is the greatest country in the world. That's why so many people risk life and limb to get here. Never forget it.

I am proud of the U.S. Constitution. I am not proud that we have trashed it.

do you think Mexican's are proud to be American's?

They're proud of taking our jobs, increasing crime, and using what isn't theirs. Of course I'm speaking of illegals.
