Glock 19 troubles

OK, so I went to fire my Glock the other day with my dad. It started acting funny from the get go. At first it would jam with the hammered side of the brass sticking up, and at one point even jammed with the completely flipped 180*. A total of four jams in 10 rounds. After that it would chamber and extract the brass fine, but it would send the brass in ever direction possible. more often than not right back in the shooters face. The most distance the brass would clear from the weapon was 24", but usually less than that...

The weapon was fully cleaned and lubed before firing...

Thanks for any help,

Wooten

How long have you had the Gen 3? Some of the problems that have plagued the 4th Gen glocks are also causing problems with the 3rd Gens.

Bring it to Tn Gun Country tomorrow between 12 and 4:30 there will be two Glock Armorers there to look at it. Won't cost you a penny, plus replacement parts are available if necessary.

God I love you guys, I wish I could contribute more to this site. That said...

I have only owned the weapon seance February, and put about 100 rounds through it... :(

I wish I could bring it there tomorrow, but I'm in Nebraska visiting family till Wensday, But I will have to go to TN gun country sometime soon...

And I will be reading that link as soon as I send this response...

So I read the link... not a happy camper... I will have to catch those glock techs next time there in the area.... :(

The situation you described immediately sounded like a weak or malformed extractor when I read it. After browsing that thread some more last night I guess my suspicions were more or less confirmed.

We've got several Glock certified armorers on this forum, some as members, others as vendors, who would all likely be more than happy to assist you with troubleshooting and/or parts replacement. I know I preach this a lot, but the Vendors who support this site deserve our support in turn. TN Gun Country is not and, to my knowledge, never has expressed interest in supporting TGO. While they may be a great shop with great folks behind the counters, I'd try to swing some business towards one of our Vendors if you could. Without their support, there wouldn't be a TGO.

OK, So I looked at the vendors and couldn't find one that says they are Glock Cert Armorers... Can you shed some light on the right vendors David?

I'd be willing to bet that just about any of them that offer 'smithing services will have a Glock Armorer. They're not exactly rare. :P
