Obviously the gun was loaded, maybe he thought all the rounds in the cylinder had been used up and had one left and was messing with it? Either way it is sad and could have been prevented if he took the extra 5 seconds to check/clear the gun.

my uncle was shot though the top of his leg by a friends ak. the guy said it wasnt loaded and when he went to load it into the car it went off. my uncle almost bled out. he had to go though alot of skin graths and extenive physical therapy. needless to say never take someones word when they say a gun isnt loaded.
