Bud light

Recommended Posts

Alright let me get some thoughts on this. My dad claims this is a one of a kind item as it is usually in a brown bottle. He says he talked to a distributor and they had never seen one. So before he embarrasses himself by putting this on eBay I thought I'd see if any of you think this is 'rare'. aee5c009-bdce-f66b.jpg

No. It may be a little old but not rare. I don't remember when that bottle was in but I think it was a marketing thing they did years ago. Don't remember much from those years.

Was it a single clear bottle in a pack or was the whole pack clear?

I do belive it is against the Ebay rules to sell food stuff. On top of that how is he going to verify the buyers age? And then I am sure there is some regulatory requirements to sell alcohol across state lines or at all for that matter.

Might call Bud and see what they say or if they want to buy it back.

It was a single bottle in a six pack, the others were brown.

To your points, clearly he has not thought this through. Ha

It should have a "born on date" to tell you if its old or not. Any older Bud driver could probably tell you if it ever came in clear bottle. The bud light lime came in a clear bottle may have got mixed up here.

That bottle was intentionally released by the company as the winning token for a million dollar prize, but unfortunately the contest offer expired last tuesday. :)

Check the label also. Down in the lower left or right corner, look for the printing code. If it is a letter "C" it was printed by my son in "Clarksville". He remembers doing those special labels. He doesn't remember the year. And no...ebay will boot your add!

Might also mention that full cans were generally not valued more than empty ones in the same condition. I suspect same is true of bottles, though no bottle was ever worth same as even somewhat rare cans. Cap of course adds value, folks have whole walls full of caps alone, matter of fact.

I'd be amazed if any Bud Light can or bottle is worth more than 5 bucks, but don't take my assessment, I've been out of the hobby for a long while.
