I haven't been real happy with the way Blackburn has caved on many issues but I will support HR3608 with calls.

The TSA needs to be disbanded. I think if you ask anyone they are the most unprofessional organization the Feds have every come up with. They are just another “government jobs†program that has run amuck. Many of the people I have heard about could not have passed the testing or background checks to become a Police Officer.

It bothered me that the THP worked with these clowns on Tennessee highways and bus stations and allowed them to conduct operations they had no legal authority to do. The THP should have to answer for that.

We have a thread going on right now where a Judge (and some people here) think that there was no cause to search a convicted felon that was drunk and in possession of a handgun even when there was a witness that pointed out the on-going felony act. But yet the TSA can search innocent people because they need to get on an airplane. Where is the common sense?

I think a fix would be to disband the TSA and cycle Metro cops and THP Officers through the airport as part of their duties.

I hope Rep. Blackburn get her bill though. Unfortunately this is going to be a State vs. the Feds issue and I doubt any legislation will have any more teeth than the Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act. But I sure did hate to sit thought that nut case Alex Jones rants to get to hear what she had to say.

 We need Rep. Blackburn in office in the same way we need Romney, there's a radical leftist out there eager to shut her/US down.

I went thru the TSA hiring process when it came to Nashville. The people running this operation was

a bad joke. It has only gotten worse as expected.

Typical politician - she voted for the Patriot Act Reauthorization, but is 'fighting' the TSA as it's publicly expedient to do so.

She's no better than any other scumbag in DC.

It's just easy as Hell to say typical politician. They're

almost all typical politicians, depending on the day

of the week and one's level cynicism. I don't care

for some of her votes, either, but this one is at face

value a good idea.

Throw the baby out with the bath water.

Something you and I completely agree on... Do away with the TSA...

I disagree on using police officers to replace them... Place security back in the hands of the airlines... You'll see some airlines who take security seriously and others who have very lax security... We the customer can choose which airline to fly with.

The fact is with reinforced cockpit doors and passengers who understand to fight back... 9/11 could never happen again.

Who would you replace her with?

Someone who respects our rights and freedoms. MB doesn't.

But no one will challenge her as all the good repubs line up to vote for her.

Tried to watch the video, but could only take about 15 seconds of Alex Jones. I will say that the TSA has stopped any interest I have in flying. I have not been on a plane now in a few years, and will not be again so long as they exist. I find roads go anywhere I care to.

Let me say as someone that had to fly around the country for my job, choosing whether to fly or not is not an option for most people. Also, people flying 2500 miles to vacation with family for a few days do not have the option of driving. This isn’t about choices, just because you have to fly doesn’t mean you should be required to have your wife or children molested by a stranger with no probable cause for a search.

I completely understand that. One of the reasons I do not fly is the high probability that I would get violent with someone who decides they need to grope on my daughter.

Pilots, at one time, could carry a weapon on board, also. I wonder if they still can? Doubt it with this

bunch of buffoons "protecting" us.

We already had a terrorist attack by taking over or crashing airplanes. We are spending a tremendous amount of money to make sure it doesn’t happen again. The terrorists know that. Doesn’t it make sense to spend some of that money for security in some obvious other areas where the death toll could be as high or higher? I doubt the next attack will be from someone passing through an airport checkpoint to make their attack.

i don't like her or Fincher's voting record very well, either, but you have to pick your battles. Right now

it wouldn't be wise with her or Fincher. More important things on the agenda. Fincher came out of the

start disappointing his constituents. I will gladly trade him, and he is in my district, being talked about, too.

Dave,

It's all about choices...You can always choose to take a different job that doesn't require flying... Nobody is holding a gun to your head and requiring you to take that job... You make a choice to work at that company in that role. I left working for a large company about 5 years ago... I make less money today than I did when I worked there, but I'm my own boss, and don't have to worry about having to fly anywhere or go anywhere (other than government buildings) disarmed.... Oh yeah and I'm a lot more happy :)

As for family vacations.. I want to visit Alaska... I think it would be fun to go up there and hunt a little, and just see the sights with my family... I refuse to fly anymore unless it's a life or death emergency... and I haven't figured out a way to get up there without having to leave my handgun here at home... so until I figure out a way up there, Alaska is off my vacation list... so we'll go somewhere else instead...

So yes, flying is always a choice.

Kinda like the current presidential situation huh?

Until someone else who has a better chance of taking her seat, or his, we have to settle for the best person at the time. Same with Romoney.

In most cases it's safer to vote for the best of two evils.

Not everyone I vote for is going to vote my way but if they keep a radical lib out of office then my vote for them is worth it.
